Highway To The Sunflowers
Our trip to the Sunflower field at Colby Farm was a story to remember. I left work to pick up my girl friends at what we thought was the perfect day for a photo shoot. After an hour of driving and being stuck in traffic, we finally ended up at the farm, just to have it start pouring on us. We ended up just sucking it up and went for the photo shoot anyways. My clothes and hair got soaked. My white Ked Sneakers got all muddy and to top it all off we got attacked by a swarm of mosquitos. I probably ended up with at least 10 mosquito bites in total after standing there for 15 minutes. Probably one of the shortest photo shoots Salma and I have done together. Hahaha. But hey working with the best, she still managed to take some amazing photos of myself and Nouhaila. It was my first time collaborating with Nouhalia and it will not be the last. *(look out for our next blog collaboration coming soon)* You can follow her Instagram @Nouhaila.troumi.
My ripped jeans, blue button down top and accessories are all from New York and Company. My white sneakers are from Keds. My hair was styled by The First Lady Hair Braiding Salon in Revere, MA. You can follow their Instagram page @firstladyhairbraidingsalon. This outfit was very simple and easy to put together. After not being able to handle the mosquitos attacking us, we left the farm and started driving back towards home. Midway back an idea popped up in my head for us to take photos on the side of the highway. The girls thought I was nuts, but I pulled over anyways and jumped out of the car. And let me tell you, we turned that highway into our own little photo shoot.

Good Ol' White Dress And A Farm
A few weeks ago I decide to drive down to Colby Farm with two of my friends to check out the sunflowers, and take photos for our blogs. Well lets just say it didn't go as we had hoped and planned for. We got to the farm and didn't see a sunflower in sight. We approach a woman who was working on the farm and it so happened that the day we came, the sunflowers still haven't bloomed. Just our luck, huh? We weren't going to let a good ol' outfit go to waste, nor were we going to let a beautiful day go to waste. We decided to do the photo shoot anyways.
This white dress was purchased at a cute little outdoor flea market in Florida. It was the perfect dress for a nice day at a farm. In the front of the dress are wooden buttons sewn from the top to the bottom. (The buttons are just meant for design, you can't unbutton them.) On each side of the dress were two cute pockets, that you can put anything inside of. This dress not only is great dress to wear in a country side area, but is also something nice to throw on over a bathing suit.
The sunglasses that I'm wearing in the next photos are from Nordstrom and they were only $11.00!! The earrings are from Aldo Accessories that I had purchased 6 years ago.
The photographer that had taken all of these photos was none other than my good friend Salma Kilaouy. She is an amazingly talented photographer that always slays my photos! You can follow her Instagram page @salma_kil and like her Facebook page 'Salma Kilaouy Photography. Also, she will be posting up her new blog and I will provide the link for it once its up and running. For the first time ever, I collaborated with Jackie Munroe, someone I have known for over two years now. She has started an amazing blog about items of clothing that she finds and wears from her mothers closet. The blog is called, 'Thanks thats my Mom's!'. You can check out her blog post at www.thanksitsmymoms.wordpress.com and subscribe to her blog, to get weekly notifications of her new blog posts.
